  I dont like using "their" name for God

  i realize that i avoid using their name for god.. i can say it................. jehovah.

  but i'll avoid it almost always..... if i'm talking with you,.

  on the rare occasions that i am in conversation with any jdub family,.

  mat got some point here. visiting a few latin american countries was a real eye opener for me, when still being active in THE TRUTH. jehová here, jehová there, every bus had jehová printed all over it. i even got preached to on the streets, house-to-house whatever. that's where i saw that THE TRUTH was just another religion among thousands.

  What was the correct protocol for first name/last name usage from the platform?

  some brothers at my last kh just could not pronounce the surnames of other members of our congregation especially african and dutch surnames so they used their first name or an abbreviated version of their first name.. i was wondering why we weren't all called by our first names?

  much more friendly.

  the only time my surname is used outside the kh is by strangers or authority figures so why the use of surnames from the platform by people who would at all other times be using your first name?.

  some brothers used to call us by our first names, until a CO came along and explained that this is not correct and you have to say brother lastname and sister lastname. even in the bookstudy.

  oh, i love to use it when having religious (or actually: anti-religious) discussions with neighbours or other "worldly" people. when talking about jehofers law for women to drink dirty water if their husband suspects she was unfaithful for example. or jehofer being jealous - i mean, really, really jealous.

  this is a quick translation of the bottom sign:

  Child Protection Area! Access to this property forbidden to priests, religious personnel or other church staff accompanied by unsupervised children without the presence of their parents, guardians or authorized representatives. Violators will be charged without exception. The large number of incidents of abuse in the Roman Catholic Church force us to this precaution in the interests of vulnerable children.

  seems like he had to experience the problem first hand, that's why he put up those signs, more so, as pilgrims would wander about there all the time.
